Imapct of Covid -19 on Mental Health

Corona is not an Epidemic it is rather a Pandemic declared by World Health Organization.

A wide range of strategies has been adopted by various countries to control this Pandemic spread. Covid -19 is an alarm for the entire world that regardless of lot of achievements in the Healthcare sector and Medical Science we are still not prepared to handle this kind of Pandemic. Corona Effect has globally changed many aspects of our life from health care to the Socio-Economic Background of a common man and will take years to heal these scars.

So as the covid -19 came in our lives, it has impacted us in a positive manner and in also in a negative manner. if we look for a positive side than family members get united and it has strengthened our family values. Lockdown helped members to stay together, spend maximum time physically witnessing each other pressure and pains.

On the other hand it has created many unpleasant situations in our personal life leading to Domestic Violence, Stress and Depression. Due to Financial Hardships families suffered a lot. As many have lost their jobs as the economy was in down part. It has created a lot of Anxiety and Disorders issues in the young generation. Tension in parenting was a major challenge during lockdowns. Being isolated at home has shown negative consequences for some families. Violence has increased in many parts of the world due to financial crises.

During the covid-19, a number of people are experiencing Anxiety and psychological issues. Particularly, a drastic change has been noticed in human Nature and a considerable degree of fear, Concern, and worry in sort of age group across the world.  The main psychological impact to date is elevated rates of stress or anxiety. 

Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting economic recession has negatively affected many people’s mental health and created new barriers for people already suffering from mental illness and substance use disorders.  also found that many adults are reporting specific negative impacts on their mental health and well-being, such as difficulty sleeping (36%) or eating (32%), increases in alcohol consumption or substance use (12%), and worsening chronic conditions (12%), due to worry and stress over the coronavirus

Young adults have experienced a number of consequences such as the closure of colleges and Universities and the same have been experienced in school children. A large number of adults ages 18-24 report of Anxiety or depressive disorder. due to COVID-19 lockdowns, as of March 2020. Furthermore, around 214 million children globally – or 1 in 7 – have missed more than three-quarters of their in-person learning.
